An interactive screen-based installation incorporating machine learning to simulate the process of metamorphosis
Drawing inspiration from Franz Kafka's existentialist literature "The Metamorphosis," this installation utilizes machine learning to visually depict the transformative journey between a human and a bug. With the rapid advancement of AI, this work raises existential questions a century after the book's release. The evolving relationship between humans and machines challenges our understanding of identity and prompts introspection about the essence of being human.
Accompanying the visual experience is an AI-processed audiobook of "The Metamorphosis." As the visual representation transitions between human-like and bug-like forms, the clarity of the audio fluctuates, paralleling the character's journey of reclaiming their humanity amidst societal alienation imposed by the capitalist system. This installation provokes contemplation on existence, the human-machine relationship, and the impact of technology on our perception of self.
